- Annual Giving Manager

General Position Summary:
The Annual Giving Manager is a member of Food Lifeline’s Development Team and will manage several annual giving programs, including monthly giving, mid-level donors, direct mail, day-of-giving campaigns, workplace giving, and donor stewardship. This role will provide excellent management and stewardship of our monthly donors while managing a robust direct mail program across our Western Washington service areas. This position will consistently promote positive and mutually rewarding interaction with and stewardship of donors at all levels. They will collaborate with internal and external constituencies to determine the best strategies for effective solicitation and stewardship of donors, creating a gratifying gift experience for all donors in support of FLL’s mission.
In addition to management of several giving programs, the Annual Giving Manager will provide day-to-day oversight of Development Operations of Food Lifeline. This includes systems, processes, and impacting gift entry, CRM management, and overall donor data management best practices.
This is a supervisory role, overseeing the Gift Processing Administrator, Development Business Analyst, and Mid-Level Officer. The Annual Giving Manager will contribute to the Giving Team’s strategies to achieve an annual goal of $16 - $20 million in philanthropic revenue. This position will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
Monthly Giving
- Manage and grow the monthly donor program, with notable retention rates.
- Oversee donor communications and engagement touchpoints in partnership with Marketing
- Cultivate and steward monthly donors, including managing upgrades and additional gifts
- Reactivate lapsed donors and serve as the main point of contact for all monthly giving inquiries
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive monthly donor journey
- Track and maintain donor records and updates in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
Direct Mail Fundraising
- Lead strategy, execution, and performance tracking for the direct mail program. Manage relationships with direct mail vendors and coordinate segmentation, campaign themes, and timelines
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communication team to align DM messaging through a community-centric fundraising and strengths-based lens
Mid-Level Program
- Oversee the Mid-Level Officer and provide guidance on portfolio management and program functions
- Offer recommendations to strengthen the mid-to-major donor pipeline in collaboration with the major gifts team and the Director of Development
In collaboration with the Mid-Level Officer and Director of Development, make recommended DM strategies as they pertain to the Mid-Level Program
GiveBIG, Giving Tuesday
- Plan and execute the GiveBIG and Giving Tuesday campaigns
- Ensure website updates, donor outreach, staff engagement, and campaign promotions in coordination with Marketing
- Analyze and report results, and assign stewardship actions to team members
Workplace Giving
- Manage workplace giving campaigns supporting Food Lifeline’s mission
- Working with the Corporate & Events team members, complete application submissions, coordinate campaign promotions, and steward workplace donors
Stewardship & Donor Engagement
- Support other stewardship programs with donor outreach lists, action tracking, and
reporting - In partnership with Marketing, refresh and update donor acknowledgment letters
quarterly - Plan and participate in stewardship events, including receptions, volunteer nights, and
educational gatherings - Conduct donor tours and contribute to fundraising events as needed
- Foster strong, rewarding relationships with donors at all levels
Development Operations and Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises the Gift Entry Administrator and Development Business Analyst positions
- In partnership with the Director of Development, collaborate with the Finance Department on gift processing, monthly reconciliation, and monthly revenue reports oversight.
Other Responsibilities:
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in fundraising, donor engagement, and CRM systems
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in handling sensitive donor information
- Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring privacy and respect of the employee, volunteers, partners, donors, and others
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Commitment to fulfilling the Food Lifeline mission and positively representing the brand both internally and externally
- Strong communication skills that are effective across a variety of constituencies, high customer service focus
- Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision, have general office/clerical work experience and have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Must be detail-oriented and able to work well as a team and with others across the organization to achieve shared goals
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, meet deadlines, and communicate professionally and effectively both in writing and verbally

Experience:
- A minimum of five years of fundraising experience, non-profit fundraising experience preferred.
- Must be able to pass background check including criminal investigation (for obtaining/processing donor credit card information).
- Valid WA State Driver’s License preferred.
Job Conditions:
- Work is performed in an office setting with adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation. Requires extended periods of sitting, use of desktop computer terminal, and the ability to routinely lift and carry up to 10 pounds. Position requires patience and tact while managing multiple tasks and interacting with a variety of people.
- Occasional overtime related to special events or seasonal activities.
Physical Demands: - Position requires extensive keyboarding with repetitive wrist and hand movements and prolonged periods of sitting. Frequent talking and listening including phone and in person conversations. Requires occasional bending, standing, reaching and lifting of up to 25 lbs.
