Role Overview
The Associate / Senior Associate role represents an opportunity to become a key contributor on the Monument Group analytics team, collaborating with senior investment professionals in performing and qualitative due diligence, portfolio analytics and industry research. The position entails interacting with Monument Group’s General Partner clients to prepare due diligence materials and respond to institutional investor due diligence requests. The Associate / Senior Associate will also assist in performing due diligence on prospective Monument Group clients. The role is ideal for professionals with 3–5 years of experience and a passion for detail-oriented work in a fast-paced, global environment.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting due diligence activities related to existing and potential clients for the marketing of primary funds across various alternative asset classes
- Work closely with senior investment team members and clients to compile due diligence and marketing materials for use by potential investors
- As a secondary focus, the role will involve due diligence activities related to co-investments, GP restructurings, LP secondaries and/or other structures
- Conduct industry market research & statistical analysis
- Evaluate performance of potential new clients, contribute to team discussions on new business opportunities
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with a strong track record of academic excellence
- Three to four years of relevant professional experience; limited partner, consultant/gatekeeper, fund-of-funds, placement agent or investor relations experience highly preferred
- SIE and Series 63 & 79 exams required within 6 months of employment
- Progress towards a CAIA/CFA designation or CFA Institute Private Equity Certificate, or desire to pursue a similar designation, a plus
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
- Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
- Desire to work in a small, entrepreneurial, team-oriented and collaborative environment
- Possess outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Hard-working self-starter with time management and organizational skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports, general business articles, professional journals, etc.
