Position Information

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 8 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to design and lead high-impact career programs that serve various student populations, including those from differing backgrounds.
- Strong understanding of career development theory, student needs across academic disciplines, and current trends in career education and labor markets.
- Proven track record of developing, executing, and assessing career-related events and initiatives at scale.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across stakeholder groups including students, faculty, employers, and alumni.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and lead multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with career services technologies (e.g., Handshake), data-informed decision making, and innovative digital engagement tools.
Reporting to the Career Center's Director of Career Education, this position coordinates university-wide Career programming including Career Education Bootcamps and Learning Cohorts, Networking Dinners, Career Education Conferences, and the Arch Ready Professionalism Certificate. Additionally, this position will coordinate outreach and develop strategies for engaging students across satellite campuses (Griffin, Gwinnett, Tifton, etc.) and UGA Online Learning. This position supervises a team of Career Consultants and graduate assistants.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Professional experience in career services or a related area, with demonstrated expertise in career exploration, coaching, and job-related skill development.
- Experience supervising professional or student staff and providing guidance in the delivery of high-impact career programs.
- Familiarity with career assessment tools (e.g., MBTI, Strong, CliftonStrengths) and their application in student development.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects, prioritize competing demands, and work effectively with various populations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Career Education Programming and Curriculum Development
- Leverage data-driven insights to develop and implement long-term programming supporting undergraduate and graduate career education. This includes but is not limited to: Beyond the Arch Career Readiness Bootcamp, Pre-Health Programming, etc.
- Lead coordination and post-event assessment, including semesterly dashboard updates distributed to schools/colleges, of relevant Career Education Career Conferences and Networking Dinners serving both undergraduate and graduate students from a wide range of academic disciplines.
- Develop and maintain general undergraduate and population-specific eLC modules in partnership with Career Center staff.
- Collaborate with Director of Career Education to provide logistical support, pull data for, and operationalize the Arch Ready Professionalism Program each semester.
- Coordinate Career Fair Prep stations (employer research, practice your pitch, career fair walkthroughs, etc.) during major Fall and Spring Career Fair events.
Supervision and Performance Management
- Supervise 3-4 Career Consultants and/or 1 Graduate Assistant serving several schools and colleges.
- Provide guidance and support through individual and group meetings, semester reports, strategic planning meetings and professional development opportunities
- In coordination with Director of Career Education, develop KPIs and expectations for employees reporting to this position. Mentor and evaluate his/her performance annually.
Academic Collaboration and Student Access Support
- Actively liaise with School and College Academic Advising teams to provide updates and resources and evaluate student needs.
- Maintain regular communication with UGA satellite campuses and UGA Online Learning to determine Career Services resource and programming needs.
- Actively support Career Consultants with appointments during high-demand periods and by regularly offering 15-minute Career Quick Chat appointments for general support.
Stakeholder Engagement and Institutional Collaboration
- Meet and communicate regularly with key UGA contacts, e.g. UGA Faculty, Administrators, Undergraduate and Graduate coordinators, Alumni Relations, Development, etc. to develop appropriate career services for Graduate Students.
- Regularly attend division-wide events and meetings including Discover DAR, Townhall, Development meetings, etc.
