Location: Hybrid role based in Prince George’s County, Maryland
Timeline: ASAP through June 23, 2026 Primary
About the Campaign: Craig Hayes is an electoral reform advocate, grassroots organizer, and progressive Democrat running to represent District 22 in the Maryland House of Delegates. Craig is running for Delegate because he believes our ongoing constitutional crisis needs a new generation of state leaders who are willing to propose bold policy solutions to not only protect but strengthen our democracy. That is why he supports electoral reforms like proportional ranked choice voting and special elections for legislative vacancies so that Maryland voters always have a voice in who represents them. With nearly two decades of experience organizing political campaigns and working directly with elected officials and community leaders, Craig will be ready on day one to represent the people of District 22 in Annapolis.
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced manager to help launch and lead our campaign to victory in the June Primary. Ideal candidates should have well-developed communication skills and experience creating targeted field plans.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Work in conjunction with candidate to develop and execute overall campaign strategy & detailed budget with a clear timeline and benchmark goals from pre-launch to election day
- Handle day-to-day campaign operations, vendor contracts, administrative tasks, and calendar management
- Coordinate with treasurer to ensure campaign finance reports are filed accurately and timely with MDCRIS
- Manage field program, including volunteer recruitment, canvassing, phone banking, texting, and events
- Collaborate with candidate to create digital and print content, including print ads, palm cards, mailers, long and short form video, social media graphics, and other digital advertising assets
- Keep detailed track of all endorsement deadlines and assist candidate in drafting responses to questionnaires
- Form relationships with key community members, union leaders, and stakeholders to assist in coalition building
- Support candidate fundraising through donor research, call time, fundraisers, and email newsletters
Qualifications:
- 1-2+ cycles of experience working on political campaigns (state legislative or comparable race)
- Strong field and communications skills and advanced familiarity with NGP VAN
- Experience with website builders like Squarespace and designing & copyediting web material
- Experience with Canva and video editing applications like CapCut
- Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends
- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle
- Ties to Maryland and experience with Campaign Deputy and/or Scale to Win are pluses!
