POSITION SUMMARY
The Engagement Center Coordinator plays a dual role serving as both a frontline caller and a creative communicator in the Engagement Center. This position is responsible for creating compelling, mission-driven content that highlights the impact of philanthropy, celebrates alumni and donor experiences, and strengthens connections between the institution, and the alumni and donor community. This role gathers stories through interviews, research, and collaboration, then transforms them into written, visual, and digital content for use across the engagement center's campaigns, events, and communications. In addition to developing content for the engagement center, this role will also do frontline outreach engaging with people to build awareness of the College and increase donations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job duties specific to this position:
Caller:
- Make outbound calls to alumni, parents, and friends to build relationships, share updates, and secure gifts.
- Enrich the data to ensure more accurate contact information and develop deeper insights into donor affinities.
- Record and share meaningful conversations and stories that can be used in future communications.
- Serve as a representative of the institution with professionalism, empathy, and enthusiasm.
Content Developer:
- Write and edit stories, profiles, and testimonials for email, phone scripts, print, social media, and web.
- Interview students, alumni, faculty, and donors to uncover impactful stories that align with institutional priorities.
- Partner with engagement center callers, advancement staff, and marketing teams to identify opportunities for storytelling.
- Provide written narratives and creative assets to support fundraising appeals, stewardship efforts, and engagement initiatives.
- Ensure all storytelling aligns with the institution's tone, style, and messaging guidelines.
- Translate impact data and statistics into accessible, human-centered stories that demonstrate results.
- Explore new formats-video, podcasts, social content, infographics-to diversify storytelling.
- Maintain a library of stories and testimonials for future use.

- Performs a variety of related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, or related field.
- Working knowledge of major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
- Understanding of social media analytics and tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics).
- Familiarity with paid social advertising and campaign optimization.
- Knowledge of SEO, hashtags, and platform algorithms.
- Graphic design and video editing skills.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple platforms.
- Ability to conduct thoughtful interviews and build rapport with diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and engagement trends.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines.
- Familiarity with advancement, alumni relations, or nonprofit fundraising preferred.
- Creative, empathetic, and collaborative mindset.
