Description
As part of the diverse Global Data Licensing team, you will support LSEG D&A revenue growth and savings targets by helping to deliver LSEG D&A's third-party data strategy as defined by the Business Proposition teams and Content Specialist teams.Our team is responsible to bring high-quality third-party market data into the organization on the best possible commercial terms for LSEG D&A and the wider LSEG, through negotiations and relationship management of a broad range of third-party data providers.
We are involved in the provision of compliance advice to the LSEG organization to help ensure adherence to the obligations under the agreements you will put in place with third-party data providers.
You will be required to handle the relationship of an existing portfolio of third-party market data providers, but also establish new ones and achieve the best commercial and usage term outcome for LSEG.
This will require delivering data acquisition projects for internal business and content owners, acquiring the required rights to use, within a certain timeframe and budget, and gathering these rights through our digital processes.
To be successful in this role, you will require strong interpersonal, organization, problem-solving and analytical skills, confirmed commercial savviness and the ability to engage and collaborate with senior members within the data supplier organizations that supply data to LSEG.
Job Summary - Support and lead data licensing negotiations, as well as follow the associated key processes and policies and help to achieve the targets for data acquisition across LSEG.
What you'll be doing:
- Give to build strong internal relationships with various collaborators such as business proposition owners and content specialists, and implement the data acquisition strategy based on their priority data projects and plans.
- Be responsible for the development of the relationships with data providers, existing or new, making LSEG the vendor of choice to carry their data.
- Support and lead negotiations with data providers to bring high quality data into the organisation on the best possible commercial and legal terms, and with appropriate Service Level Agreements.
- Help ensure data costs are kept to a minimum and that revenues are improved by proactively seeking savings and negotiating favourable revenue shares with the data providers in your portfolio.
- As a team, we collaborate and support the Rights Management team on specific or ad hoc data usage requests to ensure data use rights are kept up to date where needed and are widely available to internal or external partners.
- Help develop the relationship between the data providers in your portfolio and LSEG, by responding to market data questions from internal collaborators or the provider contacts, as well as connecting senior leaders of both organizations to explore broader and strategic opportunities to work together.
- Help keep key frontline collaborators updated of data enhancements by working with the relevant internal teams.
- Help us keep internal admin systems relating to contract, financial and data usage terms we have with data providers updated and maintained.
- As part of the Global data Licensing team, we will train, mentor and support you to help you expand and then apply deep knowledge of data licensing related issues, becoming a subject matter authority in this field (by staying aware of current issues and developments). This knowledge will help and support you in the negotiation and execution of data agreements.
