If yes, we encourage you to apply for the Development Manager role at Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH) and help drive systemic change, improve outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness, and build a more equitable and effective homeless response system.
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven individual to drive our funding strategies, expand our donor base, and ensure exceptional data management and communication. This role is a critical component of our success, balancing direct fundraising execution with essential administrative and strategic support. This role includes:
Revenue Generation and Campaign Execution
- Corporate Giving: In partnership with the Director of Fundraising, execute the Corporate Sponsorship strategy to meet revenue targets. This includes developing and delivering presentations to prospective corporate sponsors, securing annual and event-specific partnerships, and ensuring all sponsorship obligations are fulfilled.
- Individual Giving Direct & Digital Appeals: Take ownership of all Annual Fund fundraising appeals (mail and digital), managing the entire execution process from contact list segmentation to performance tracking and final reporting.
- Donor Stewardship: Manage the complete gift lifecycle, guaranteeing that all donors receive timely and accurate acknowledgement letters and tax receipts, ensuring a positive donor experience.
Grant Portfolio and Administration
- Grant Seeking & Submission: Proactively research, solicit, and submit applications for small to medium-sized grants from foundations and corporate giving programs, working closely with the CCEH team to develop compelling proposals aligned with long-term strategy.
- Portfolio Management: Partner with leadership to manage the organization's grant portfolio administration, including strict adherence to deadlines, tracking deliverables, overseeing data collection, and compiling financial reports.
Membership, Data, and Communications
- Membership Development: Collaborate with the CCEH team and external partners to maintain a high renewal rate for membership and secure new members outside of our sector. Develop and execute strategies for member acquisition and ensure high member satisfaction.
- Data Integrity & CRM Oversight: Serve as the guardian of the agency’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, maintaining the highest level of accuracy for all donor, grant, contract, sponsorship, and membership records.
- Strategic Communications: Develop, execute, and manage targeted internal and external fundraising communications across various channels.
Qualifications we’re looking for:
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing a donor/customer relationship management (CRM) database (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to draft compelling proposals, appeals, and reports.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience with or a willingness to learn grant research and foundational grant writing principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and email marketing platforms.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Our work requirements:
- Full-time, M-F, 37.5 hours/week.
- Hybrid role with in state travel as needed.
- Compensation range: $28 to $31 per hour
Education & experience we’re looking for:
- High School Diploma or Degree with a minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in fundraising, non-profit development, or a related field.
