Description
Position Type: Hourly internship
Compensation: $23-$25/hr
Hours: 20-25 per week; Monday-Thursday between 1:30p-7:30p ET / 10:30a-4:30p PT
Location: Remote with preference for Pacific/Mountain Timezone
Contract Timeframe: ASAP through March 31, 2026. Potential for conversion to part-time or full-time employment beginning April 1st, 2026 if mutual interest.
About the Role
Groundfloor Political, formerly MDC Group, Ltd., is seeking a Communications Intern to join our team. Our clients include progressive political campaigns, PACs, and 501(c)(4) organizations. This position requires professionalism, organization, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Create basic, professional graphics using Canva.
- Draft, edit, and refine fundraising copy (primarily SMS).
- Navigate CRM systems to draft, schedule, and send messages.
- Coordinate with Groundfloor account managers to review and revise content.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues to refine messaging strategy and execution.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Comfort learning and applying new digital tools.
- Basic design skills (experience with Canva or similar platforms preferred).
- Professionalism in collaborative settings.
- Prior political, nonprofit, or communications experience is a plus.
- Highly motivated undergraduate or recently graduated students encouraged to apply.
