The Director of Development & Communications plays a vital role in advancing CRPC’s mission by ensuring the long-term sustainability and visibility of the organization. This leader will shape and implement fundraising strategies, cultivate meaningful donor relationships, manage grants, and lead communications efforts that share CRPC’s story with clarity, excellence, and heart. As a key partner to the Executive Director, this person will help strengthen the resources, relationships, and reputation that fuel our work.
Primary Responsibilities
Development
- Partner with the Executive Director to design, implement, and evaluate annual fundraising goals and campaigns.
- Lead the Development Committee in planning and executing large-scale fundraising events.
- Build, cultivate, and sustain strong relationships with key partners, foundations, sponsors, and donors to advance annual goals.
- Oversee donor stewardship and communication efforts to ensure timely, personal, and mission-centered engagement.
- Develop and implement strategies that deepen donor and board connection—email and mail outreach, in-person meetings, mission-focused activities, and other initiatives aligned with CRPC’s values and the interests of supporters
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records, including interactions, history, and meeting notes
- Manage a comprehensive development calendar tracking deadlines for proposals, grants, reporting, appeals, events, and other major initiatives.
Grant Management
- Partner with the Executive Director to identify funding opportunities and secure necessary resources.
- Develop compelling, mission-focused grant proposals and ensure timely submissions.
- Complete all required grant reporting, maintaining accuracy and consistency with funder expectations.
Communications
- Serve as the steward of Community Renewal’s brand, ensuring consistent, values-based messaging across all communication channels.
- Create and manage an annual communications strategy supporting organizational programs, events, and core values.
- Oversee social media platforms and monitor relevant trends to increase engagement.
- Develop storytelling content that effectively communicates CRPC’s impact.
- Ensure CRPC’s website remains current and functional, coordinating with consultants as needed.
- Design graphic elements and marketing materials using Canva or similar design platforms.
- Produce branded presentations for external speaking engagements and organizational promotion.
- Provide additional communications or development support as needed to advance CRPC’s mission.
Hours & Work Environment
- Full-time position, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Work-from-home Fridays (additional hybrid flexibility may be considered).
- Occasional evening meetings and special events required.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (equivalent experience considered in lieu of a degree).
- 1-3 years of professional experience in nonprofit development and/or communications (other relevant experience considered).
- Familiarity with emerging communication strategies, storytelling approaches, and digital outreach trends.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (Bloomerang, Bonterra, Givebutter), website editing tools (Wix, WordPress), and design platforms such as Canva.
- Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, or similar tools.
- Willingness to complete a background check due to our work with children.
