Family Services Association (FSA) is a nonprofit organization committed to helping individuals and families in crisis by providing emergency financial assistance and connecting them with vital community resources. Located in Danville, Kentucky, we work in partnership with local agencies and civic organizations to support residents in need with compassion, care, and accountability.
We are seeking a mission-driven, organized, and compassionate Executive Director to lead our organization and make a direct impact in the community.
As Executive Director, you’ll be the face of FSA and the heart of our operations. You’ll support individuals and families in financial crisis, manage the daily operations of our office, oversee financial records, and maintain relationships with community partners, funders, and local government.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with individuals and families seeking financial assistance
Listen, advise, and refer clients to appropriate community resources
Maintain daily records of services provided and funds distributed
Oversee office operations (filing, correspondence, supplies, cleanliness)
Attend and report at all Board of Directors meetings
Maintain and report accurate financial records (with Board oversight)
Submit funding applications
Manage fundraising campaigns and seek out grant opportunities
Represent FSA at community meetings and events
Coordinate maintenance, rent collection, and upkeep of property
Manage burial fund accounts for designated families
Requirements
We’re seeking a compassionate leader who is highly organized, self-motivated, and dedicated to serving others.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Social Work or related field)
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Strong listening and communication skills
Basic computer, accounting, and financial management skills
Experience working with or within nonprofit/social service sectors
Physical and mental stamina to manage daily operations
Dependable and trustworthy
Pay rate is based on experience.
