- Foundation and Coorporate Relations Manager
Description
POSITON DESCRIPTION: Manage private grants program, which includes overseeing the ongoing solicitation strategies for HOW’s foundation, corporate, faith-based and civic association grants, and oversee all corporate solicitation and stewardship efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Research, solicit and steward all private foundation and corporate giving opportunities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee timeline and activities related to grant management and events. Work with Development Coordinator to ensure timely gift entry and acknowledgements, and ongoing gift tracking, reporting and analysis.
Maintain portfolio and calendar of submission deadlines and contacts for foundation grants, corporate grants, faith-based groups and civic associations, including updating the donor database.
Lead sponsorship efforts for major fundraising events, tracking prospects and managing submissions and sponsor details.
Write and submit proposals, budgets, and reports in timely manner and ensure compliance with grant commitments.
Maintain grants files, monitor grant status in database, and track grants income to budget.
Manage department correspondence and communication with private funders.
Plan, organize and attend site visits with funders and prospects as appropriate.
Identify, research, and evaluate potential funding prospects.
Keep current on programmatic needs, new program developments, client outcomes and accomplishments by communicating regularly with program departments to ensure program descriptions and outcomes for which funding is sought are accurate and up to date.
Remain abreast of issues relating affordable housing, poverty and issues directly impacting our clients lives like health care, employment and education.
Attend workshops, and other skill-building activities as appropriate.
Attend relevant committee and community meetings, representing HOW as needed.
Contribute to the overall work of the Development team, and actively participate in team meetings and other staff meetings.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements
WORK SCHEDULE:Full-time, Monday through Friday – some weekends and evenings
STARTING SALARY: Based on experience
Mandatory Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
3-4 years’ experience in Development, preferably in a social service setting
Strong communication and social media skills
Grant writing experience and knowledge of grant submission process
Strong understanding of Chicago area foundations and other funders
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Donor Perfect Online
Cultural sensitivity to the challenges faced by homeless individuals
Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift 25 pounds, and walk up and down stairs
Pass all applicable background checks
