Overview

Missouri Baptist University is seeking a part-time Head Coach for Men's & Women's Golf who has a vibrant Christian faith. The Head Coach will lead and oversee the assigned athletic program and recruiting while fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and personal development among student-athletes. This pivotal role requires a strategic leader with a passion for athletics, a commitment to student success, and the ability to inspire and mentor young athletes.

Experience Required

Previous collegiate coaching experience is preferred but not required.

Essential Responsibilities

Coaching and Training

• Developing and implementing training programs.
• Conducting practices and training sessions.
• Analyzing athletes' performances and providing feedback.
• Developing course strategies and playbooks.
• Monitoring the physical and mental condition of athletes.

Recruitment

• Scouting and evaluating potential student-athletes.
• Communicating with high school coaches and athletes.
• Organizing and conducting campus visits for recruits.
• Coordinating recruiting trips and attending high school and junior tournaments.

Administration and Management

• Managing budgets and ensuring compliance with financial guidelines.
• Scheduling tournaments, practices, and travel arrangements.
• Overseeing equipment and facilities.
• Ensuring compliance with NAIA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
• Maintaining records and statistics.

Mentorship and Student-Athlete Support

• Providing academic support and ensuring athletes maintain eligibility.
• Offering personal and career advice.
• Supporting athletes' overall well-being and development.

Public Relations and Community Engagement

• Representing the team and college at public events and functions.
• Engaging with the media and promoting the program.
• Participating in fundraising and alumni events.

• Building relationships with fans, boosters, and the local community.

The coach can hire graduate student assistants from the university to aid with the responsibilities listed.

Benefits

This part-time position does not include benefits. However, if the prospective candidate is willing and able to recruit and retain a roster of student-athletes that exceeds the department's expectations, this position could transition to full-time with benefits.
