Description
Piedmont Athens Regional is a 427-bed, not-for-profit hospital and regional referral center serving communities in 17 counties around Athens and northeast Georgia. Our mission is to make a positive difference in every life we touch.
We are home to a Level II trauma center, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and an extensive network of respected primary care providers and specialists who care for patients of all ages.
This role manages a portfolio of 75–125 major donors and prospects, cultivating relationships and securing philanthropic support to meet annual fundraising goals. It leads development strategies for a major Piedmont Healthcare service line, overseeing donor cultivation, solicitations, and foundation grant requests while strengthening partnerships across leadership, clinicians, Foundation staff, and volunteers. The position ensures accurate documentation in Raiser’s Edge, prepares reports for stakeholders, and maintains a strong understanding of philanthropy and healthcare trends. Success requires excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to engage confidently with donors and executives, supported by a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant development experience.
Requirements
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, development, business, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years of progressive professional experience in development, marketing, communications, or a related field.
At least three (3) of those years must include direct development/fundraising responsibilities.
Demonstrated success in donor cultivation, relationship building, securing philanthropic support, and advancing donor engagement.
Experience working with a donor database system is required.
