The Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) at the University of Pittsburgh is dedicated to fostering meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, and stakeholders, supporting the University's mission in education, research, and healthcare. We invite you to become a pivotal part of our team as the Manager - Philanthropic Engagement Center. In this role, you will serve as the integral part within PAE's Advancement Services department, reporting to the Senior Director, Annual Programs
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and supervise a team of student Engagement Ambassadors.
- Manage recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and oversee a student supervisor program to support leadership and training.
- Monitor engagement shifts and ensure fundraising and outreach goals are met.
- Plan and execute multi-channel campaigns (phone, text, video, email).
- Align outreach with university priorities such as donor retention, acquisition, stewardship, and Pitt Day of Giving.
- Customize strategies to foster a strong Engagement Center culture and boost constituent interaction.
- Operate and troubleshoot automated engagement systems and related technology.
- Create weekly engagement plans using digital tools.
- Track and report on performance metrics (daily, weekly, annual).
- Maintain department hardware, software, and equipment.
- Conduct bi-monthly onboarding and semesterly all-staff training sessions.
- Provide ongoing professional development for Ambassadors.
- Share schedules, training materials, and resources via the PEC site.
- Collaborate with leadership to set strategic goals and ensure alignment with fundraising objectives.
- Approve timecards and manage Ambassador work schedules.

Job Summary
Leads team and operates an automated calling system. Generates reports, and maintains equipment, hardware, and software. Works with leadership to set goals and strategies. Assists callers in pursuit of their performance goals and ensures that calling scripts are in alignment with the University's priority needs.
Essential Functions
- Ongoing recruitment, hiring, & training of new student ambassadors to utilize calling software to engage University constituents (alumni, friends, faculty, and staff), as well as to raise monetary support from generous donors to Pitt.
- Daily maintenance of the calling software used for omni-channel communication with University constituents (text, email, & call).
- Create call standards and strategic engagement techniques to support internal partners (schools, institutes, centers) fundraising goals, and report on outcomes.
Physical Effort
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification: Must Have 2-3 years of fundraising experience but prefer 4-5 years. Basic computer skills (i.e., knowledge of Excel, Word, etc.)
Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 12pm-8pm
Work Arrangement: On-Campus: Teams that work on campus, in an office, or in a lab.
Hiring Range: $45K - $50K annually
