Description
Honolulu Theatre for Youth (HTY) seeks full-time Managing Director to join its three-person leadership team, alongside the Artistic and Education Directors. This key leader is a frontline fundraiser, responsible for administration, grant development, marketing, and daily operations. The successful candidate will have a deep connection to Hawaii, its culture, and communities, and the ability to ensure the organization's long-term sustainability.
The Managing Director will: oversee grant management and fund development; grow revenue streams; manage administrative and HR functions; oversee day-to-day operations and the organizational budget; and manage marketing strategies. The candidate will be a collaborative, mission-driven leader committed to community values and cultural awareness. A can-do attitude, paired with a commitment to place-based leadership, is essential.

Requirements
5+ years of nonprofit management experience, preferably in the arts or education sector; demonstrated success in fundraising and grant writing; strong financial management skills; and excellent communication skills. A degree in Arts, Arts Administration, or a related field is preferred. A strong connection to or knowledge of Hawaii’s history, culture, and communities is highly valued. The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is required.
