Description
The Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archives (HMH) is seeking a passionate professional to join our team as a fundraiser who will build lasting relationships and champion our unique mission in support of HMH’s historic site, archives and collections. Our constituents include descendants of the missionaries who arrived in Hawai’i beginning in 1820; members, visitors, and community organizations who are interested in the fascinating and complex period of Hawaiian history from 1820 – 1863; and funding entities established to support and protect these valuable resources.
Requirements
Opportunities available to a successful applicant for this position include:
-Forge lasting connections with missionary descendants, delving into their genealogies and ensuring that younger and future generations continue their relationship with HMH;
-Engage and grow the community of HMH members and visitors to inspire their ongoing participation and support;
-Lead outreach efforts to community organizations with common or intersecting interests, seeking opportunities of mutual benefit;
-Drive fiscal support from trusts and foundations;
-Collaborate with the HMH team to integrate programs, ensure accessibility, and maintain the integrity of genealogical and membership records.
Applicants who are enthusiastic and committed to supporting the mission and history of HMH may bring a variety of experiences to this position. As HMH is a small organization, the ability to both collaborate and work independently are keys to success.
