The Mountain Home Montana Board of Directors is seeking an executive director to lead and elevate Mountain Home Montana to the next phase in our organization. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a compassionate, mission-driven, and experienced leader to fill this full-time position. The executive director will directly support their leadership team and provide indirect support to all of Mountain Home Montana staff. They will also work collaboratively with Mountain Home’s committed Board of Directors.

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Knowledge of organizational management with the demonstrated ability to manage support staff and develop high-performing teams to achieve strategic objectives.  

  • Effective in nonprofit administration, meeting facilitation, consensus-building, organizational  planning, and budgeting.  

  • Proven track record raising funds, increasing donor commitment, and giving programs. Able to show clear results in the areas of donor development, fundraising, grant writing, and public  relations.  

  • Working understanding of – and commitment to – the principles of trauma-informed care. 

  • Persuasive and passionate communicator (both oral and written) with excellent interpersonal skills. 

  • Team Leader with commitment and ability to lead in a collaborative work environment across multiple  

stakeholders including the Board of Directors, staff, and the population Mountain Home serves.

  • Detail-oriented with strong strategic, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and planning skills.

  • Demonstrated experience with donor databases and financial management software. 

  • Ability to work with diverse groups and constituencies and have a strong commitment to supporting  young mothers and their children.  

  • Committed to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) in the workplace and the populations  Mountain Home serves.  

Required Education and Experience:  

  • High school diploma required; degree in a related field preferred. 

  • At least five (5) years of related experience required.  

Preferred Experience 

  • Experience leading in a similar industry or organization.  


Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.  

Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds occasionally.  

Must be able to work outside regular hours to attend events or training sessions.
