Description
The Grant Writer is a key member of the Mission Advancement team responsible for identifying funding opportunities and developing compelling grant proposals that support the organization's mission. This role requires an analytical, organized, collaborative, and resourceful professional who can build strong relationships across departments and consistently deliver high-quality written materials.
Requirements
- Research and identify viable grant opportunities.
- Develop compelling and concise grant proposals, reports, letters of interest and all other materials associated with the applications.
- Engage with program staff across Catholic Charities, Seton Home, and St. PJ’s Children’s Home to better learn the programs and gather critical information to enhance proposals and reports.
- Develop and maintain database of foundations, federal, state and local grants that align with CCAOSA’s mission, vision, values and strategic goals.
- Work closely with Grants Director and the finance staff on grant budgets.
- Manage grant and reporting calendars to delineate timelines for submission, including internal and external deadlines.
- Complete 3-6 grants weekly.
- Submit weekly grant submission reports
- Update grant management software, grant binders, and grant library on a weekly basis.
- Represent Catholic Charities at fairs, workshops, and public events to maintain business relations, as needed.
- Prepares and disseminates information about the agency and funding opportunities to prospect partners, and strengthens relationships with community groups, businesses, and individuals to develop resources to support agency efforts.
- Interacts with visitors, donors and/or potential volunteers as needed to discuss agency mission opportunities.
- Assists in coordinating fundraising efforts among the staff and community (e.g., annual campaigns, employee campaigns, special events).
- Participates in agency committees as required, and when appropriate, is responsible for meetings by actively taking minutes, organizing and disseminating information.
- Enhances skills through active growth via participation in meetings, seminars, and conferences.
- Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner.
- Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.
