Position Summary:
This positionis responsible forplanning, executing, and evaluating a comprehensive annual giving program that incorporates cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities. This includes, but is not limited to, direct mail program (both internal and contract services), solicitation of cash donations on the Seattle Humane campus, donor engagement events, and programmatic stewardship of all annual giving donors. This positionis responsible forincreasing participation from individual donors who give up to $5,000 annually, resulting in long-term financial growth for the organization. The Annual Giving Manager will work closely with the Development and Marketing departments to develop and execute on fundraising and engagement strategies across multiple channels.This role drives donor acquisition, retention, and stewardship working with the Development Director and other internal stakeholders.
KEY OR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Creates and executes the comprehensive annual giving program, including strategies to inspire giving from new donors, increase retention rates, re-engage lapsed donors, and increase average gift amounts.
- Acts as campaign manager for Annual Giving campaigns; partners with stakeholders across teams to develop, implement and continually evaluate multichannel giving opportunities.
- Manages campaignlogisticsand develops complex project timelines using project management tools that reflect roles, tasks, and dates to ensure project scope is understood and work is completed as planned.
- Primarily responsible for creating or collaborating with colleagues to ensure campaign assets (content, copywriting, graphics) are deployed and integrated across all platforms.
- Stays educated on new and emergingtrendsin Philanthropy and with the technical developments that apply to the profession; communicate and lead their organizations in applying these developments. This includesnew givingvehicles and avenues such as cryptocurrency, gamification, etc.
- In partnership withCommunications& Marketing team, aligns annual giving and stewardship strategy with integrated communications plan and fundraising priorities.
- Working with Communications & Marketing team members, ensures copy for email, direct mail, newsletters, and social media incorporates appropriate audience and community-focused strategies to increase revenue and engagement.
- With Direct Response vendor,assumesprimary responsibility for managing all components and ensuringtimelydelivery of both internal and external projects and appeals.
- Actively works to expand and grow the monthly giving program and new donor program.
- Maximizes revenue to Seattle Humane through designated areas of responsibilityincluding:internally and externally produced direct mail appeals, digital appeals, online giving, matching gifts, car donationprogram, andindividual gifts given. Leads efforts and projects for special giving days like Giving Tuesday and Day of Giving.
- Drafts donor-centered acknowledgement letters for all types of donor gifts across campus. Partners with Donor Services to ensuretimelyresponse to all gifts given to the organization via mail, by phone, online, on campus, internally, and at events.
- Working in partnership with the Development Director and individual giving team leadership, creates and implements segmented donor engagement and stewardship plans for annual and mid-level donors that include: thank you calls, personal outreach, tours, notes and other methods for implementing moves management practices. Will carry a portfolio of mid-level donors.
- Providesstrategic insights and recommendations based on analysis of donor trends and ROI.
- Analyze current policies and procedures for efficiency and propose improvements as needed to streamline processes and enhance effectiveness related to areas of work.
- Submits budget requests and expense reports; follows established annual budget amounts for assigned areas.Provides support to the Director of
- Development relating to team budget management and monitoring.
- Manages team calendars and provides team-wide project management for projects as assigned by the Director of Development.
- Prepares weekly & monthly reports and/or other data as requested by the Director of Development, Major Gifts Officers, or Executive Director.
- Maintainsappropriate filesand records. Adheres to the files andrecordsretention policy and procedures.
Secondary Functions:
- Answers incoming calls and responds to voicemail and email messages promptly and professionally.Investigatesdonor complaints ina timelyand objective manner. Tracks public input on a regular basis and provides information to the Development Director.
- Conductsmeetings within and between departments when necessary andattendsall-staff, supervisor, department head and other meetings asrequested.
- Supports donor event planning and coordination.Assistswith the training ofspecial eventsstaff and volunteers as needed in relation to annual giving.Attends donor and community engagement events as back-up with events team and donor services are not available.
- Other duties as assigned by Development Director or supervisor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
None but will provide some team lead responsibilities for Development Associate colleagues.
COMMUNICATION/INTERPERSONAL CONTACT:
- Daily verbal or written communication with staff and donors through direct contact, meetings, written procedures, email, memos, charts, signs,telephoneor mail.
- Daily contact with customers and donors by telephone, email, directcontactor through the mail.

COMPLEXITY:
This position requires a high degree of judgment, analytical skill, and discretion. The role involves managing complex digital marketing priorities and making recommendations that inform strategic decisions. Must be able to manage multiple priorities, respond to urgent requests, and drives project priorities in a fast-paced environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Open office concept environment. Hybrid in-office and work from home flexibility. May have limited animal handling which presents the potential of animal bites, exposure to zoonotic diseases (diseases that can be transmitted from vertebrate animals to people), animaldanderand noise.
Equipment Use: Continuous use of desktopcomputer,printer, copymachine, and multi-linetelephone.
Work Hours: Full-time,40 hoursa week. Some evening and/or weekend hoursrequired.
LOCATION:
Position will be located onsite in the Bellevue, WA office.

Requirements
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION OR TRAINING:
- High degree of judgmentand confidentiality required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental fundraising principles and practices.
- Proven experience in successfully managing teams of staff and volunteers to achieve project deliverables.
- 3+ years of fundraising and/or other related professional experience in a nonprofit environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
- 3+ years of digital marketing and/or direct mail marketing experience required
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with diverse groups of people, including colleagues, board members, volunteers, and donors.
- 5+ years in project management required. Must have exceptional organizational and project management skills to be able todeterminework priorities,schedulesand timelines.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel,PPT, emailand Internet use; have an advanced level of knowledgerelationaldatabases.Proficiencyin project management platforms such as Asana and Basecamp is preferred.
