The individual serves the Athletic Department as the Director of Business Services and will be responsible for satisfying the financial reporting requirements of the Athletic Department. In doing so, the employee must complete mandated and ad hoc financial reports, including, but not limited to, the Federal EADA Report, NCAA/AUP Report, Private Business Use Questionnaire, and select ACC financial surveys/disclosures. Additionally, the Director of Business Services will be required to track, review, and reconcile Athletic Department revenue-related transactions, including all sports camp, ticketing, in-venue, outside event, sponsorship, and fundraising activities. The employee will analyze financial trends and data, reconcile transactions to the general ledger and other shadow systems, ensure University accounting standards are met, and identify opportunities to streamline business processes throughout the Athletic Department. The Director of Business Services will also support the annual budget development process and help manage the Athletic Department's $160 million operating budget. This will require the employee to monitor Athletic Department spending patterns and collaborate with sport/unit leaders to establish appropriate budget targets, assess budgetary performance, address emerging financial issues, and develop plans for future periods. The individual will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Business and Finance and receive other tasks and direction from the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Finance and Strategy. A Bachelor's degree is required, with a focus on accounting, business, and/or finance strongly preferred. The employee shall also possess at least three years of related experience in business and/or intercollegiate athletics as well as proficiency in both Microsoft Excel and Tableau.
Job Summary
Manages general accounting functions and daily operations to ensure compliance with fiscal policies, procedures, and regulations. Oversees reports and analyses and assists in budgetary functions. Resolves complex accounting inquiries and issues. Coordinates audits and account and database maintenance and establishes internal controls, remediate actions, and operational goals.
Essential Functions
Completion of Athletic Department Financial Reporting Requirements. Analysis and Reconciliation of Department Revenues. Monitoring of Annual Operating Budget. Special Projects and Other Duties as Assigned.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification: Intercollegiate athletics experience strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of work and/or high-level playing experience may be substituted at the discretion of the University.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00p.m.
Work Arrangement: On-Campus: Teams that work on campus, in an office, or in a lab.
